I am a self-taught artist and have painted and drawn since I can remember. Beginning with oils, later moving to pastels as well as watercolours, the latter having been my main medium for some years now.
After running a number of drawing and painting classes for several years on a private basis, I then went on to teach “Painting for Pleasure” adult classes at the Isle of Man College, Castle Rushen High School and Port Erin Community Centre before retiring to pursue my own personal painting path.
Motivation comes from the Island’s skies, landscapes, hedgerows and flora. The quality of light on the subject matter and textures are a very strong influence and one which I will continue to explore as it holds a strong fascination for me.
