“The paintings’ function was to point to interpersonal relationships and the socially determining forms of life. In Ruscica’s exhibition, the objects themselves come to life through disconnected anecdotes rather than coherent dialogue, similar to the illogical progressions in Luigi Pirandello’s metatheatrical play Six Characters in Search of an Author (1921), which thematises the relationship between the author, his characters and the actors.”
