by Paul Parker, 1991
I love this picture by Paul Parker. I’ve had it for many years -in fact since 1991 I think – and earned it as commission when I sold a number of his paintings to some work colleagues.
It’s so different to any of his other work that I have seen and so colourful. It makes me think of sunny summer days which are few and far between here on the Isle of Man, so it always puts me in a good place when I look at it. I’m not sure if I recall correctly but I think he told me it is his dad in the deck chair. I know it doesn’t appeal to everyone (I know at least 2 people who don’t like it at all!) but wouldn’t life be boring if we all liked the same thing?
