I am a Mixed Media Artist and Experimental Animator based on the Isle of Man and in the UK.
I recently graduated from Staffordshire University’s BA Hons Stop Motion Animation and Puppet Making, to which I will be returning in 2017 to complete a Masters in Animation, and have just taken up my year-long position at the Sayle Gallery in Douglas as Artist in Residence where I will be developing my skills in traditional animation methods, as well as producing an animated film about the relationship between art and mental health to be shown at my solo exhibition in June 2017.
My graduate film, “Misophonia” has just recently been shortlisted in the Best Manx Independent Film category at the Isle of Man Film Festival 2016.
I am also a freelance illustrator, using paint, sketches and collage, and have created commercial work for the Manx Amateur Drama Federation’s festival in 2015, as well as taking on other creative 2D and 3D commissions such as wedding toppers and other decor. My work is inspired by the dark, weird and whimsical with a focus on storytelling. I love experimenting with different techniques to get the best out of my pieces, and I plan to create a book based around the darker side of Greek Mythology using mixed-media illustration as well as a series of short experimental animations during my Masters.
I am capable with Dragonframe, Adobe video editing and Photoshop, but use technology only for editing and photographing my pieces as I prefer to use traditional methods where possible.
Take a look at my social media to see more of my work and feel free to get in touch regarding commissions or just to have a chat about the artwork or come find me at the gallery!
