I am a ceramic sculptor working on the Island, based at my studio “the Silver Willow Studio” at the Strang in Braddan.
I first dabbled in ceramics at the age of 14 in our school ceramics workshop. During a varied career as an outdoor pursuits instructor, as the IOM Deputy Chief Coastguard and then later as a Civil Servant, there was little time to indulge in the creative arts. However all that changed when I was made redundant in 2014. I was finally able to turn what had been a hobby and passion, into a full time activity. The Silver Willow Studio was born.
As an artist and sculptor I am inspired by the beauty and forms of the natural world and its wild creatures. I also love to teach and to help others enjoy the experience of working and creating in clay.
I run courses and workshops at my studio through the summer months.
Most of my work is made to commission, but I always have some pieces available to purchase at the studio or via my website ……visitors are always welcome!
