Peter Hearsey went to Art School in Hull in the early ’60s and worked in advertising in London before coming to the Island to live in 1977.
By the late ’80s he was becoming known for painting historic automotive subjects and in 1989 was invited to exhibit in the USA. This led to him being elected to the Automotive Fine Arts Society in the States and around the same time he was commissioned by Lord March to create the poster image for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Commissions from corporate clients include Rolls-Royce, Ford, McLaren and his paintings of automotive and TT subjects have attracted collectors worldwide.
However, he is now changing direction – drawing and painting many different subjects and enjoying etching, a craft he first specialised in at Art School in Hull!
